SPECIALTY SERVICES
Prescribe therapeutic eye drops
Anterior eye diseases can be examined and diagnosed on a slit lamp microscope and therapeutic eye drops prescribed for eye conditions such as conjunctivitis, dry eye, corneal abrasions and inflammatory eye conditions.

Contact lenses
We can fit the whole range of soft contact lenses: daily, monthly, overnight, astigmatism, monovision and multifocal lenses. We can also fit rigid gas permeable lenses including Orthokeratology corrective refractive therapy and mini scleral contact lenses. Corneal topography mapping is the most accurate way to measure the shape of the cornea and decide which contact lens options are best.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) corrective refractive therapy
Ortho-K is a form of non-surgical vision correction that corrects your vision while you sleep. A special form of rigid contact lenses are worn to bed at night time to gently reshape the cornea and once removed in the morning will provide good vision with no glasses or contact lenses during the day. Ortho-K can correct mild-moderate amounts of myopia and astigmatism.

Myopia control
Increasing myopia in children and teenagers is a big worry for patients, parents and optometrists alike. One technique used to try and control myopia progression is Ortho-K. Research has found that Ortho-K has can slow the progression of myopia in 50% of children. Lifestyle alterations can also be made to assist in controlling myopia progression.

Children’s vision
A child’s routine first eye examination is recommended at 4-5 years of age (kinder/Prep) even if there are no problems seen. If there are any problems detected sooner, age does not matter and we highly recommend an eye examination as soon as possible. These problems can include but are not limited to: squinting, excessive blinking, eye turn, headaches, blurry vision, head turning.
